Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for evaluating processes to determine root cause and effect of non-conformities, improve processes to ensure quality assurance, reduce cycle time, support LEAN activities, ensuring that corrective actions arising from NCR investigations are tracked to completion and sustained. This role also involves overseeing tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples throughout the manufacturing process, supervise and mentor lab staff ensuring they are trained and adhere to quality standards. The role ensures the products, processes and procedures compliance with card payment industry requirements (ISO, Mastercard’,..) including associated release activity.

Perform Non-conformance (NCR) investigations and ensure root causes are correctly identified, and that initial and long-term Corrective Actions are documented, proposed to the business and tracked to completion.

Ensuring the use of quality improvement program and monitoring the product quality and scrap rate, completing error analyses, Continuous Improvement Process (Scrap Problem Solving), tracking remedial and improvement measures as specified by the QM.

Actively participate in troubleshooting, FMEA, lead corrective action teams and quality technicians in understanding and valuing the importance of measurement and adhering to the Quality Management System.

Assess manufacturing processes, perform measurement system analysis, including statistical process control. Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations and following through for continuous improvement initiatives and improve process consistency and product quality

Investigate and resolve quality issues or defects in the manufacturing process

Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards for manufacturing processes and ensure Operation processes are performed according to approved Control Plans and QMS Standards

Create and maintain material Order Specifications (raw material specifications).

Review and analyze test results to ensure they meet quality standards, and address any discrepancies or issues.

Review all Failure Analysis Reporting (FAR) and analyze data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for lab testing.

Identify areas for improvement in testing procedures and quality control, and implement changes to enhance accuracy and efficiency

Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards

Collaborate with cross-functional process owners and external parties to integrate quality considerations into product design and manufacturing processes.

Provide training and support to manufacturing staff on quality standards and best practices.

Oversee or perform testing and validation of new manufacturing processes or equipment.

Ensure that new processes are validated and meet the required quality and performance standards before full-scale implementation

Provide support to all departments on quality related matters.

Participate as a member of the Quality team and assist in special projects and decision making as required

Assist other QM team members with audits, non-conformance report (NCR) investigations, EH&S duties and other product development activities as required

Comply with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job-specific environmental, Health & Safety information and training and ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Serve as backup to the other Quality Engineers
- Ensure the lab is kept clean and organized

Work Experience:-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the card production industry.

LEAN and Six Sigma experience is preferred

Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001.

Excellent to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Skills and Competencies:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent investigation, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to determine root cause analysis of quality issues surfacing in a product manufacturing environment utilizing 8D, FMEA, etc

Familiarity with all relevant ISO/ANSI/CQM standards for cards and related devices is preferred

Experience working in ISO 9001/14001/45001 certified organizations and supporting the ongoing compliance and maintenance of these certifications

Computer proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required

Experience with statistical process control (SPC) methods and tools for data analysis (e.g., statistical process control, root cause analysis).
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Office environment 50% with 50% plant exposure (lab coat and safety shoes mandatory)
