WSP is currently looking for a Tax Manager to join our Tax Department, located at our Montreal office. Reporting to the Director of Taxation for Canada, this person will be responsible for the tax compliance of Canadian group entities, as well as providing business and special project support. There is a possibility for this role to work 4 days per week.

Prepare and file the Canadian Corporate income tax returns for the WSP Canada group;
Prepare quarterly tax provisions for the Canadian entities and answer the external auditors requests for quarter-end and year-end;
Manage domestic corporate tax audits and commodity taxes audits;
Work closely with the Finance team and the head office tax team on the common projects, such as the financial information reporting, internal controls, budget, forecast, tax cash flows;
Maintain appropriate communications with all levels of the organization to ensure the information is flowing to the right people at the right time for their decision making;
Work with and lead the business units to improve the existing documentation and processes to ensure compliance with tax rules, and provide required tax information for business bids;
Monitor, communicate and follow-up on legislative tax changes;
Prepare and provide training and follow-up to improve processes following audits;
Prepare and maintain all corporate tax accounts reconciliations;
Work closely with the Tax Director on special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, specialized tax training, process documentation, payroll and taxable benefits questions, tax process automation etc.

Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience;
Professional accounting designation (CPA CA, CGA, or CMA);
Post-graduate degree in Tax or CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, an asset;
In-depth knowledge of Canadian corporate tax;
Advanced financial accounting skills;
Team spirit, organization skills, autonomy and effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Mandatorily bilingual, with developed oral and written skills (French and English);
Commodity taxes experience, an asset;
Advanced Excel skills is a must.
