Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This role involves managing the inbound and outbound logistics processes, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, order picking, packaging, and operating equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. This position is essential for maintaining smooth distribution workflows and supporting e-commerce order processing.
Duties
Receiving Duties:
- Match incoming goods against packing slips, purchase orders (PO Nos.), and bills of lading (BOL) to ensure accuracy.
Shipping Duties:
- Accurately pick products based on shipping order quantity and pack them securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels, packing lists, waybills, and customs documentation (if applicable).
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers and couriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, Freightcom) for daily pickups.
- Stage wrapped and palletized shipments in the designated shipping lanes.
General Warehouse Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counting
- Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Valid Forklift Certification (Counterbalance, Raymond Reach, or Pallet Jack) is a strong asset.
- Ability to stand for long periods and comfortably lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs] regularly.
- Basic computer and admin skills
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time-management skills, and a team-player attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Inspect incoming materials for any visible damages, defects, or shortages, and report discrepancies immediately.
- Log received inventory and create Goods Received Notes in the system
- Sort, label, and route incoming stock to its designated warehouse shelves or production areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or distribution is preferred
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP systems such as AS400, and order picking software
- Ability to operate forklift, reach truck, or other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and measurements
- Experience with e-commerce order processing is a plus
- Ability to load & unload shipments efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods
This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy within the warehouse environment.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
