Tamim Academy Vancouver – Hebrew Immersion Educator (K–8)
Tamim Academy Vancouver is part of a growing movement transforming Jewish elementary education across North America. Inspired by Montessori methods and guided by leading educational research, we foster a love for learning, a strong sense of self, and timeless Jewish values within a nurturing community.
We are seeking one Hebrew Immersion Teachers to join our founding team and help shape a vibrant, student-centered Hebrew language learning environment for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Foster a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging Hebrew immersion environment for multi-age K–8 classrooms.
- Teach Hebrew language, literacy, and early reading skills through full Hebrew immersion.
- Support the general studies teacher while maintaining exclusive use of spoken Hebrew in the classroom.
- Design meaningful learning experiences that promote both language acquisition and a love for learning.
- Build strong, caring relationships with students to support individual and collective success.
- Collaborate with general studies educators to integrate Hebrew language learning across the school day.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and actively participate in professional development, including learning the Tamim model and curriculum.
- Adapt, differentiate, and innovate to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Contribute to shaping the school's culture and long-term success through initiative, communication, and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Fluent Hebrew speaker with excellent oral and written Hebrew communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field preferred).
- Valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain certification through the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB).
- Classroom teaching experience (early childhood or K–8 experience preferred).
- Experience with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, immersion education, or multi-level classrooms is an asset.
- Passion for child-centered, holistic education.
- Strong commitment to Jewish values and fostering a joyful Jewish learning environment.
