Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team in Carstairs, AB. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in the individuals home. MUST have active LPN license!
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Assist with daily living activities and provide personal care to patients.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Support patients with chronic conditions, including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Epic or Cerner EMR systems for efficient medical documentation.
- Critical care experience, including ICU or PICU settings.
- Medical office experience with familiarity in outpatient procedures.
- Long-term care experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- IV infusion skills, including IV insertion and medication administration.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in hospice care.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques and phlebotomy skills.
- Familiarity with pain management strategies, acute pain management, and geriatrics.
