Job Description Summary

Interacting with employees on a daily basis in a positive, supportive manner and directing any employee inquires to the appropriate department Manager. Assist in the communication of Company safety philosophy, policies and procedures to enhance healthy work environment. Assist in strategies to reduce absenteeism and overtime cost through maintaining and developing consistent scheduling objectives. Assist payroll administrator in the monitoring and tracking of work hours and to capture employment data for record keeping and measurement purposes. Maintain accurate employee records, files and data for daily and monthly reporting.
Job Description

Maintain positive employee relations by possessing the ability to effectively communicate and handle a variety of employee situations
Monitors/maintains electronic time capture system
Effectively communicate company policies and collective bargaining agreement articles to a variety of employees
Direct employee inquires to the appropriate departmental manager
Assists with follow-up meetings and development of new employees
Works closely with HR/payroll in researching payroll issues
Supports company safety philosophy, policies and procedures
Work with operations to establish, track, and monitor employee engagement activities
Provides general administrative and/or specialized support to plant operations
Assists in maintaining accurate safety records and employee files
Assists in the preparation of reports required by the company and legislation
Ability to understanding and interpret the Collective agreement
Assists the Production Manager and department in developing and coordinating production scheduling
Assist to resolve employee’s questions or concerns with respect to their schedule and or schedule changes
Assist in organizing of company and employee activities
Completes tasks and projects in a timely and accurate manner
Cross trains to assist with other positions as may be assigned or required

Two-year College or technical school certificate or two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
Strong analytical skills, including use of data, and problem-solving tools. Strong orientation to quality, continuous improvement and customer service. Strong proficiency in multi-tasking and handling multiple priorities. Strong PC skills (Work, Excel, Power Point and Internet based programs). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
