Position Overview:
The HR Generalist will play a key role in ensuring smooth human resources operations, covering areas such as recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and payroll administration. The ideal candidate will be experienced, detail-oriented, and able to handle HR duties with professionalism and integrity. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic HR insight and practical execution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job postings, screening candidates, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract highly qualified candidates who align with our company values.
- Ensure structured, thorough onboarding for new hires, including training on policies and procedures.
2. Employee Relations and Administration:
- Act as a reliable and discreet point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries.
- Oversee payroll administration, benefits, and compensation to ensure alignment with company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date and compliant employee records, managing HR documentation with strict confidentiality and accuracy.
3. Policy Implementation and Compliance:
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies that align with company standards and ensure a consistent, professional workplace.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Provide HR-related guidance and counsel to managers, promoting a fair and structured approach to employee relations.
4. Performance Management and Reviews:
- Coordinate and manage performance review processes, supporting managers in identifying improvement areas and recognizing accomplishments.
- Assist with performance management strategies, always ensuring a respectful, transparent, and compliant process.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in an HR Generalist role or similar HR experience with demonstrated success in HR operations, compliance, and employee relations.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to foster clear and professional interactions.
- In-depth understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates a conservative, business-focused approach that aligns with a professional, results-driven workplace culture.
