Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Interprofessional Practice and Learning; the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) facilitates and advances excellence in quality person centred care and practice through the integration of a variety of services aimed at supporting and enhancing professional practice. The PPL takes a collaborative leadership role in fostering a culture of learning with a focus on clinical practice, clinical leadership, inter/intra professional collaboration and the development, implementation and maintenance of a model for inter/intra professional practice and standards consistent with health professional regulatory bodies and associations. The PPL serves as a consultant to the organization with respect to professional practice issues at the individual, team, program and system level. The PPL works with all members of the interprofessional team including physicians to promote evidence based practice, reflecting best practices and a culture of person centred care.
This is a provincial role that can be alighned with any site within the province, reporting into the NZ Director of Interprofessional Practice and Learning.
Qualifications
Health profession education at Master’s level or higher relevant to interprofessional practice and learning (ie. Master of Education) required
Registered / eligible for licensure with appropriate health profession regulatory body in Nova Scotia (e.g. NSCN)
Five years clinical experience with operational / practice leadership, plus three years of management and/or demonstrated leadership experience in an advanced practice role
Demonstrated success in collaborating with others
Experience in initiating and managing projects
Demonstrated success in working with teams and team development
Demonstrated aptitude for progressive, creative and innovative thinking
Demonstrated experience with designing, implementing and evaluating traditional and nontraditional education programming
Possesses a vision of person centered care
Demonstrated success in leading change
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information
$41.1721 - $54.7053 hourly
