Job Summary
Atlas Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, tech-savvy Instructor located in RIchmond, BC to join our team starting February 2026. We teach coding and real-world applications using Python, Raspberry Pi, and hands-on project work - no boring lectures here!
This position is ideal for those who are:

- Excited to work with youth ages 10–17 in small-group settings
Responsibilities
- Deliver Atlas Academy’s curriculum (https://www.atlas-academy.ca/programs)
- Guide students through projects while encouraging exploration and problem-solving
- Debug and support students during class, adapting explanations for different learning styles
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Provide occasional updates or feedback about students to the admin team
- Respond to internal team communications via Slack within 24-48 hours regarding scheduling, lesson prep, or student concerns
- Collaborate with co-founders and other instructors on program improvement and delivery
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or have completed a Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM degree
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching youth (formal or informal)
- Working knowledge of Python and ability to help debug beginner-level code
- Strong classroom presence, communication, and empathy with students
- Ability to manage small groups and maintain student engagement
Nice to Have (but not required):
- Experience with Raspberry Pi or beginner electronics
- Background in computer science, software engineering, education, or STEM
- Previous experience in youth programs, coding camps, or extracurricular teaching
Schedule & Compensation:
- Weekly class commitment
- Potential for more hours as the program grows
- $25-$40 per hour depending on experience
- Performance-based hourly wage increase
- Training and curriculum provided
