Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Associate to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. This role is vital in ensuring accurate inventory levels, efficient demand planning, and seamless order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, familiarity with ERP systems, and experience in warehouse distribution and procurement processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives and optimize inventory management across various platforms, including e-commerce and retail environments.
Duties
- Monitor and manage inventory levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Conduct data collection, mining, and analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and support demand planning activities.
- Utilize data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI to create reports that inform procurement strategies and process improvements.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing procurement activities including purchasing and sourcing strategies.
- Oversee order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with retail management and 3PL providers to streamline warehouse distribution operations.
- Assist in materials management tasks such as receiving shipments, stock rotation, and cycle counting.
- Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing supply chain workflows and recommending efficiencies.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as necessary for materials handling (certification preferred).
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, discrepancies, and adjustments to ensure data integrity.
Requirements
- Proven experience with data analysis skills, SQL, ERP systems (such as SAP or AS400), and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, warehouse distribution, materials management, and order fulfillment processes.
- Knowledge of demand planning, procurement, sourcing, and negotiation techniques within a warehouse or retail environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), 3PL logistics providers, and retail merchandising practices.
- Ability to perform data mining, analysis skills, and process improvement initiatives effectively.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus; certification preferred.
- Excellent analytical thinking with attention to detail; strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across procurement, logistics, retail management, and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field is preferred but not mandatory based on experience.
