Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Hydrovac Swamper to join our team and support our hydro excavation operations. In this vital role, you will assist the operator by ensuring safety, efficiency, and smooth workflow during hydrovac projects. Your energy and attention to detail will help us deliver top-quality service while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the hydrovac operator with setup, positioning, and maneuvering of equipment on-site
- Maintain clear communication with the operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of the hydrovac truck
- Perform site inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Help with the setup of hoses, tools, and safety barriers around work zones
- Support with equipment maintenance checks, including hoses, valves, and other components
- Keep the work area clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency during operations
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures rigorously to prevent accidents
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience or familiarity with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulic systems, pumps, and general machinery maintenance
- Ability to operate or learn dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, grader, or other construction machinery is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or willingness to obtain one is preferred
- Knowledge of horizontal drilling or paving projects is advantageous
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
