Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial transport truck & trailer repair and heavy equipment maintenance, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing commercial transport vehicles. This role involves working on various commercial transport trucks, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment. A class 1 license is a strong asset.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport vehicles and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace components such as engine parts, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery safely and effectively.
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and regulatory compliance in accordance with CVSE and or MOT/DOT. A CVSE inspector certificate is a strong asset, but not required
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Work with front staff to communicate issues, order parts, and other duties as needed
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and ensuring timely repairs.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical experience with commercial transport vehicles or heavy machinery.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with , forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, and schematics reading.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards and safety protocols for industrial equipment operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience working with heavy equipment operation or industrial machinery is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This role is vital for maintaining the safety and efficiency of our fleet of commercial vehicles and industrial equipment while supporting our commitment to quality service delivery.
Pay: $23.60-$48.69 per hour
