The Commercial Insights Analyst is an integral part of the commercial planning and reporting function, responsible for delivering insightful analysis and actionable reporting of sales performance and market intelligence. The position will involve collaborating with cross functional teams within Tilray and our sales broker partners to ensure our commercial goals are met and accurately reported within the organization.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage accurate sales forecasts and latest estimates that incorporate current and relevant market information to predict customer demand, price protections and returns
Partner with key team members across departments to lead provincial & brand performance reviews, strategic planning efforts, and influence positive decision making
Identify forecast accuracy root causes and refine process to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process
Enhance current reports as required, collect feedback from stakeholders, and develop commercial dashboards
Respond to ad hoc requests for commercial insights & analytics by producing well-constructed analysis or new reports
Coordinate and support the sales broker relationship through the development of new reporting tools, performance metrics and dashboards
Manage data inputs into the process, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
Data & Analytics: You will need to mine multiple sources of data, derive actionable insights, and translate complex results into simple conclusions that will empower the business to take action to win with consumers
Curiosity: Passion about discovering new things and ability to learn quickly
Influence: You must be an effective communicator, ambitious, and able to translate insights into actions that improve Tilray’s business results and generate sales
Organization: Ability to represent sales and work cross functionally to achieve desired results, staying on top of things and flagging issues early to the right stakeholders
Communication: Demonstrating superior cross functional communication skills (spoke, written, comprehension)
Collaboration: Building trusting relationships and unifying stakeholders to common goals, communicating and optimizing processes and handoffs.
Problem-solving skills: Diagnosing issues, such as why sales totals were less than predicted or why programming isn’t creating sufficient ROI, and proposing mitigating actions or solutions
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or other relevant fields.
Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis with analytics techniques to solve defined business problems.
Advanced technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including building analytical models) and PowerPoint
Experience with other analytical tools a plus
Experience working in Cannabis and/or related field is a strong asset
Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
