VICTORIA EYE is a well-established ophthalmology organization providing comprehensive medical and surgical eye care through a multidisciplinary team of physicians, optometrists, nurses, technicians, surgical coordinators, and administrative professionals.
Supporting eight providers and a high volume of medical and surgical services, Victoria Eye is seeking an experienced Business Manager to strengthen its business operations, support organizational planning, and improve consistency across administrative systems and departments.
Reporting directly to the physician owners, the Business Manager will work closely with medical leadership, the Patient Care Coordinator, clinical leaders, providers, and departmental supervisors.
The role will focus on business operations, human resources, financial administration, workforce planning, project coordination, and organizational follow-through.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness and Operational Support
- Support the day-to-day business operations of the organization.
- Work with ownership and departmental leaders to improve coordination and operational consistency.
- Support clear reporting relationships, responsibilities, and follow-through.
- Identify operational gaps and bring forward practical recommendations.
- Coordinate implementation of approved business and operational initiatives.
- Support development and maintenance of administrative systems and processes.
- Help ensure business operations remain responsive to patient volumes, staffing needs, and organizational priorities.
Financial Administration and Planning
- Support annual budgeting and financial planning with ownership.
- Monitor operational expenses and support departmental budget tracking.
- Review staffing, purchasing, vendor, and administrative costs.
- Coordinate with external accounting, payroll, banking, and financial partners.
- Support equipment and capital planning.
- Assist with business cases for new services, staffing needs, technology, and operational investments.
- Provide ownership with regular financial and operational information to support decision-making.
Human Resources and Workforce Planning
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and orientation.
- Support departmental leaders with performance management and employee documentation.
- Maintain clear job descriptions, reporting relationships, and employment records.
- Support workforce planning, cross-training, succession planning, and knowledge transfer.
- Monitor staffing needs, turnover, vacancies, and recruitment priorities.
- Support consistent employment policies and practices.
- Coordinate external HR or legal support where required.
- Support employee development and retention initiatives.
Organizational Planning
- Work with ownership to support annual, five-year, and long-term organizational planning.
- Help translate agreed priorities into practical action plans, timelines, and measurable goals.
- Support planning related to service growth, staffing, technology, equipment, and organizational capacity.
- Coordinate implementation of approved business initiatives.
- Track progress and identify barriers requiring ownership decisions.
Performance and Improvement
- Support development and monitoring of operational performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, communication, patient access, and administrative efficiency.
- Support departmental leaders with process improvement.
- Identify business, staffing, financial, and operational risks.
- Strengthen documentation, accountability, and follow-through across projects and initiatives.
- Work with clinical and medical leaders where business operations intersect with quality and patient care.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Maintain strong working relationships with physician owners, providers, departmental leaders, employees, and external partners.
- Support communication and coordinated decision-making across departments.
- Provide clear and practical recommendations to ownership.
- Participate in leadership meetings and organizational planning.
- Support managers and supervisors in carrying out their responsibilities.
- Escalate matters requiring ownership, physician, financial, or clinical decisions.
Vendors, Contracts, and Administration
- Coordinate vendor relationships and service providers.
- Support contract renewals and administrative agreements.
- Assist with purchasing and procurement.
- Coordinate business-related technology and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain organized business and operational documentation.
Role Scope
The Business Manager provides business and administrative oversight across Victoria Eye but does not independently carry responsibility for clinical governance, nursing standards, medical decision-making, or physician clinical performance.
Day-to-day clinic operations and patient experience remain supported through the Patient Care Coordinator and departmental supervisors, while clinical and regulatory responsibilities remain with the appropriate medical and nursing leaders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare administration, business operations, clinic management, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting business operations, human resources, staffing, budgeting, or organizational projects.
- Experience supervising or supporting administrative teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Comfortable working with physicians, owners, clinical leaders, and administrative teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and move projects forward.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated professional environment is preferred.
A degree or diploma in business administration, healthcare administration, human resources, operations management, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation
Victoria Eye offers an annual salary of $80,000–$95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
The position provides an opportunity to work directly with ownership and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of an established ophthalmology organization.
Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
