AMO Estate Winery is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly organized Operations Manager to join our team.

The Role
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of AMO Estate Winery, ensuring that our winery, team, events, and guest experiences operate seamlessly and to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on leadership position that requires someone who is comfortable moving between strategic planning and being actively involved on the floor with the team and our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the winery and ensure the property is presented to AMO standards.
- Ensure the winery is properly opened, staffed, operated, and closed each day.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures that create consistency and efficiency.
- Identify operational challenges and implement practical, solution-focused improvements.
- Ensure the winery, boutique, tasting areas, event spaces, and guest areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the AMO team.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Create a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
- Ensure staff are knowledgeable about AMO wines, experiences, policies, and standards.
- Lead by example and be actively present and engaged with the team.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives warm, professional, and elevated hospitality.
- Oversee wine tasting, tour, and guest experience standards.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and find solutions that protect the AMO experience.
- Monitor service standards and identify opportunities to exceed guest expectations.
- Build relationships with guests and encourage repeat visitation and brand loyalty.
Events & Hospitality
- Assist with the planning and execution of weddings, private events, corporate functions, wine club events, and AMO experiences.
- Coordinate event logistics, staffing, setup, service, and breakdown.
- Work closely with vendors, entertainers, caterers, event partners, and clients.
- Ensure events run smoothly and are delivered according to AMO standards.
- Assist with developing new experiences, events, and revenue opportunities.
Sales & Administration
- Oversee reservations and booking processes for tastings, tours, and events.
- Monitor POS operations and ensure accurate transactions and cash handling.
- Support sales initiatives and identify opportunities to increase wine, tasting, event, and retail revenue.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking and ordering as required.
- Assist with reporting, invoices, operational documentation, and other administrative duties.
Winery & Retail Support
- Assist with boutique merchandising and presentation.
- Support wine bottling, packaging, labeling, and other winery activities when required.
- Monitor inventory and communicate production or purchasing needs.
- Work collaboratively with ownership, management, production, retail, and event teams.

- Previous experience in hospitality, winery, restaurant, hotel, event, or tourism operations.
- Proven experience in a management or leadership position.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-first mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- Professional, polished, approachable, and confident.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Sales-focused with an understanding of hospitality-driven revenue.
- Wine knowledge and winery experience are strong assets.
- Smart Serve certification.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special events as required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs when required for operational and restocking duties.
