Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a focus on creating beautiful and delicious desserts. This role involves preparing, decorating, and presenting a variety of pastries, cakes, and confections in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure high-quality standards and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, and confections according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs using cake decorating techniques
- Ensure all baked goods meet food safety and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation and cooking for other menu items as needed
- Package baked goods for takeout or delivery while maintaining presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert recipes and menu items
- Handle food with proper safety procedures, including food handling and sanitation practices
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about desserts and accommodating special requests
Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, or food industry setting preferred
- Skilled in cake decorating, food preparation, baking, and food safety protocols
- Kitchen experience including food handling, packaging, and general culinary skills required
- Familiarity with food industry standards for cleanliness and safety is essential
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail is highly valued
