Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various concrete-related projects, including formwork, finishing, and restoration work. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and experience in construction environments. Prior knowledge of heavy equipment operation, masonry, carpentry, and blueprint reading is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in concrete installation and related trades within a dynamic construction setting.
Duties
- Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as caulking, cutting, and shaping materials
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials according to schematics and blueprints
- Perform masonry tasks including laying bricks or blocks as needed for structural support
- Support heavy equipment operation for lifting and moving materials around the site
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to execute project plans accurately
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures, ensuring durability and safety
- Assist with flooring installation and other renovation activities related to concrete structures
- Perform heavy lifting regularly to move materials or equipment safely
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris throughout the project
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tools and equipment
- Experience with rebar installation, concrete forming, and finishing techniques
- Proficiency in carpentry, masonry, welding, and flooring installation is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and renovation processes
- Skilled in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, trowels, and levels; also experienced with power tools like drills and saws
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or working at heights
- Construction experience preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn on the job is essential
