The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Manager, Youth Services, this role is responsible for the development and delivery of services to children and teens throughout the Caledon Public Library system. This includes the provision of programs and outreach and the development and maintenance of relevant print and audiovisual collections. The Coordinator is also responsible for a variety of public services to users of all ages including reference assistance, readers’ advisory and user-support of library technologies and digital resources.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a professional with training and knowledge in the above, normally acquired through the completion of a post-graduate degree in Library and Information Studies/Science (i.e. Master of Library and Information Science, Masters of Information Studies), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Our ideal candidate has a minimum 1-year library experience (public library preferred) and 1-year experience working with children and/or teens. Additionally, 2 years in a customer-focused setting. Programming experience would be an asset.

This candidate will coordinate youth programs offerings and special events system wide, ensuring all programs are audience-appropriate, engaging and innovative. The candidate will also develop and deliver programs to children and teens across all library branches.

This position offers a salary range of $62,312.23 - $73,080.03 plus a competitive benefits package.
