Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Restaurant Manager, supporting the manager in day-to-day operations as well as in their absence, and leading by example in delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and high standards of service.
- Support food preparation and cooking processes while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Oversee POS transactions ensuring accurate cash handling and billing.
- Support the Manager in supervising staff to foster a productive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Manage customer service interactions to ensure guest satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards across the kitchen and dining areas.
- Lead by example in hospitality, serving guests when necessary, and promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation tasks as needed, including cooking and food presentation.
- Participate in restaurant management duties such as planning shifts, resolving operational issues, and implementing policies.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management with supervising experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems for transactions and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
- Leadership qualities with experience in team management, interviewing, and training staff.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including food industry standards, hospitality practices, and kitchen procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
