Do you want the opportunity to work from a home office and travel across Western Canada to help mitigate risk and educate our Petro-Canada retail associates on robbery prevention and site level security? You will investigate safety and security related incidents for our Western Region (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Thunder Bay, Ontario) retail and wholesale sites, and work with our site-level employees, security partners, law enforcement agencies and Crown Attorney’s to assist in the preparation and management of high level police investigations.

You will use your expertise to:
Provide support and advice related to issues such as robberies, violence, thefts, break and enters, frauds, emergency response or major events
Manage and conduct sensitive security investigations which may involve confidential company issues
Respond to security incidents and ensure that all incidents are properly documented
Engage with multiple levels of the organization including leadership to present and provide updates on investigations and make recommendations on security prevention
Prepare investigations and/or court ready packages
Conduct regular safety workplace observations at our sites
Implement and help build site level safety and security policies, procedures, or tools and review and report on important incident metrics
Monitor procedures and tools for compliance and effectiveness and makes changes as required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
15 years of law enforcement experience including complex investigations
A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
Deep knowledge of law enforcement techniques and investigative processes
Working knowledge of security program design, risk assessment, security policy development, physical security design and crisis management planning
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proven interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Public speaking capability
A highly motivated attitude, and you are team focused, exhibiting a consistent positive attitude with attention to detail and confidentiality

Preference for:
A Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in criminology or security
A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or a Professional Certified Investigator (PSI)
Experience is specialized roles including robbery, intelligence, commercial crime, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and surveillance
Major case management experience
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

You will work out of your home office
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
Extensive travel within the Western Canada is required (by air and company car)
