Note: This is a hybrid role based out of Markham, ON. There will be occasional travel required for in person meetings 2-3 times per month or when needed for project support.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Business Analyst to support our Workday HCM implementation, specifically focused on Total Rewards modules (Absence Management, Benefits, Compensation). This is a contract role (9-12 months) supporting our HR Transformation & Solutions team through go-live, stabilization and user adoption.
The ideal candidate has hands-on Workday configuration and business analysis experience in Total Rewards, strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to translate complex business requirements into Workday solutions, and proven ability to drive user adoption through effective training, communication, and change support as core competencies expected of Business Analysts on enterprise system implementations.
Key Responsibilities:

Gather and document business requirements for Workday Absence, Benefits, and Compensation modules

Partner with Total Rewards stakeholders to design future-state processes and workflows in Workday

Facilitate requirements workshops, process mapping sessions, and design reviews with stakeholders

Support Workday configuration, business process design, and calculated fields for Total Rewards

Lead UAT, testing, and defect triage for Total Rewards workstream

Develop Workday-specific training materials and facilitate user training

Provide post-go-live support and process optimization
User Adoption Training:

Develop training materials, job aids, and quick reference guides for Workday Learning/Talent functionality

Design and deliver training sessions for managers, employees, and HR professionals on new processes and system usage

Create communication plans and stakeholder updates to support change readiness and adoption

Support change impact assessments and readiness planning for affected user groups

Drive user acceptance and adoption through effective stakeholder engagement and support

Measure training effectiveness and iterate based on user feedback

Manage stakeholder concerns, resistance, and questions throughout implementation
Required Qualifications:
Workday Experience:
3-5+ years of Workday Business Analyst experience in Total Rewards modules (Absence, Benefits, Compensation)
Proven experience with Workday HCM implementations or major optimization projects
Strong understanding of Workday business processes, eligibility rules, and calculated fields
Experience with Workday UAT, testing tools, and defect management
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management:
Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and design business processes with diverse stakeholder groups
Proven experience managing stakeholders, navigating cross-functional dynamics, and building consensus in complex environments
Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
Training & Change Support:
Experience developing and delivering training for enterprise system implementations (Workday or similar HRIS/ERP)
Proven ability to create clear, user-friendly training materials and documentation
Experience supporting organizational change and driving user adoption during system implementations
Ability to tailor communication and training for different audiences (managers, employees, HR professionals)
Experience managing change resistance and stakeholder concerns during transformation initiatives
