Job Summary
The Innovation Scientist will work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to execute scientific studies and dissemination, grant and funding applications, and patent technology applications for the company’s research and development roadmap. They will stay current with technological and scientific trends and develop methods to integrate them into the company’s product portfolio. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of data science with a passion for neurotechnology, innovation, commercialization, and out-of-the-box thinking.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, and engineers to translate research ideas into innovative prototypes and algorithms

Assist in the development of grant funding applications and oversee grant implementation and administration

Prepare technical reports, patents, and publications and present results to a range of scientific and business stakeholders

Stay up to date on developments within relevant fields (i.e. neuroscience, engineering, & data science) through methods such as reading academic journals, ongoing education programs, and attending conferences

Contribute across the life cycle of research studies and clinical trials, including study design, initiation, data collection, data analysis, patent development, and results dissemination

Work with business teams to translate technical and scientific concepts into commercial assets such as patents

Work with engineering, science, and clinical teams to translate research findings into design. Requirements and assist with integration into production software and hardware

Qualifications and Experience
-
Master’s degree or higher in neurotechnology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field is required while PhD would be preferred

Experience with electroencephalography, or other biomedical and medical neuro-imaging signal modalities
-
1+ years of practical biomedical research experience, with an interest and/or experience in grant and patent application development

Demonstrated scientific track record including publications, presentations, and other contributions
-
Scientific computing in Python (e.g. NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) and/or R
-
Advanced statistical, mathematical, and/or machine learning techniques using packages such as sci-kit learn, stats models, Keras, or PyTorch
