The Iceman is looking for a Service Technician to join our growing service department in downtown Toronto. The primary responsibility of a Service Technician is to install and repair commercial ice making equipment.
Responsibilities
- Take direction from the service supervisor and attend service calls as assigned by the dispatcher
- Read and interpret drawings or other specifications
- Measure and lay out reference points for installation or site inspections
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hands, power tools and welding equipment
- Install, maintain and repair entire ice making machines and refrigeration systems
- Prepare customer work estimates
- Maintain parts inventory in service truck
- Perform all work in a safe manner and follow all company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Must have a valid Province of Ontario “G” Driver’s License and a clean driving record and pass a driving record check annually
- Minimum of one year’s experience installing, repairing and maintaining refrigeration equipment such as ice making machines or equivalent work experience (e.g., installing and repairing home appliances)
- Effective oral and written English communication skills
- Ability to safely lift or move objects that weighs up to 23 kg
- Skilled at reading and interpreting drawings and compliance schematics
- Ability to work independently and in a service team environment is a must
- Effective inventory keeping skills
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Mechanically inclined and the ability to troubleshoot basic refrigeration, electrical and plumbing problems
- Completion of refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing or electrical courses or certifications is an asset
