Advantage Accounting is expanding and seeking a highly experienced CPA-designated tax professional to join our leadership team in a partner-level or partner-track capacity. This full-time, in-office role in Windsor, Ontario is ideal for an individual currently working in a public accounting firm who is ready to move into strategic leadership, manage complex client relationships, and contribute to the long-term growth of the firm.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Canadian personal tax returns, strong knowledge of U.S. and cross-border filings, and a proven ability to advise clients with professionalism and clarity. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of T1 personal tax returns, including high-net-worth individuals, professionals, and cross-border clients
- Oversee U.S. and cross-border personal tax filings (1040, 1040NR, FBAR, etc.)
- Act as a senior advisor to clients, providing strategic tax planning and resolving complex tax issues
- Oversee client relationships and ensure exceptional service delivery
- Collaborate on firm-level strategy, workflow planning, and process improvement
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate tax staff
- Stay current on Canadian and U.S. tax regulations, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation (mandatory)
- 7+ years of experience in a public accounting firm
- Advanced knowledge of T1 personal tax returns of all types
- Experience with cross-border and U.S. personal tax filings (strong asset)
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including direct client communication
- Ability to lead, manage multiple deadlines, and guide team members
