Master ElectricianThe Opportunity
A growing and well-established Northumberland County company is seeking a licensed Master Electrician to lead and support its electrical operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional looking to take on a leadership role while remaining involved in project planning, oversight, troubleshooting, and mentorship.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, supporting field staff, managing permits and inspections, and helping drive quality workmanship and safety across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Master Electrician for the organization.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Obtain and manage permits as required.
- Coordinate and liaise with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), inspectors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and guidance to electrical staff and apprentices.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and electrical designs.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Conduct site visits and quality inspections to ensure work meets company standards.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture throughout all operations.
- Assist with estimating, project reviews, and operational improvements as required.
- Support workforce development through mentorship and training.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Master Electrician License (required).
- Licensed Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable regulations.
- Experience managing electrical projects in commercial, industrial, municipal, or construction environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising electricians and apprentices.
- Experience with project estimating and planning.
- Familiarity with construction project environments.
- Experience working with municipal, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Health and Safety certifications considered an asset.
