Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures using electronic medical records systems.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages promptly.
- Verify patient information, update medical records, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with providers using practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Handle insurance verifications, billing inquiries, and collect payments in accordance with office policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support administrative tasks including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or medical receptionist in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Epic or Dentrix.
- Previous office experience with front desk duties, multi-line phone systems, and administrative responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dental office operations or medical office procedures is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and proficiency in office software applications.
