Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will function as the health care provided on a rapid response team responding to opioid related emergencies in the community surrounding the SMCHC. This position is responsible for providing health care interventions in either the community setting, or within a health care facility. This role includes comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, clinical interventions (e.g. overdose response), naloxone distribution, health education and support, and referrals to other health & social services. Other duties may include basic wound care. The Recovery Response Team services are offered at, or out of the Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre. This posting may be used to fill 8 vacancies.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
1-2 years' experience in addiction and mental health, emergency, or shelter setting. Valid class 5 driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Client Centered counseling and education, particularly with people who use drugs and alcohol. Working with people who use drugs and/or people living with HIV/HCV. Working with diverse populations. Recent experience in mental health and/or addictions and harm reduction and/or emergency department.
