Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part-Time Permanent Finance Clerk to support the day-to-day fiscal operations of Lilian Schick School in Bon Accord, Alberta.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and day-to-day operational stability of our schools. By accurately managing fees, expenses, and records, you help ensure that school resources are properly tracked and allocated in support of student learning. Your work directly supports transparency, accountability, and smooth financial operations across multiple school sites, allowing school staff and administrators to focus on providing high-quality educational experiences.
Lilian Schick School serves approximately 220 students from grades 5 - 9, including LOGOS programming, which supports the integration of faith-based learning within the Alberta curriculum. Lilian Schick School has a dedicated teaching and support staff working together as a team to provide exemplary education to all students. The school nurtures a safe and caring environment through offering various programs to encourage strong leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Add, collect, and apply school fees to student accounts
- Prepare and deliver bank deposits
- Code and enter invoices using Invoice Entry Web
- Collect, code, and enter credit card expenses
- Maintain accurate financial records for the schools
- Assist school staff with finance-related inquiries
What Success Looks Like
- Student fee accounts are accurate, up to date, and well-managed
- Bank deposits are prepared and processed correctly and on schedule
- Invoices and credit card transactions are coded and entered with a high level of accuracy
- Financial records are consistently organized, complete, and audit-ready
- School staff receive timely, helpful, and professional support with finance inquiries
- Errors are minimized through attention to detail and strong verification practices
- Financial processes are followed consistently and aligned with division procedures
- Deadlines are met reliably, even during peak operational periods
- You are recognized as a dependable and trusted support for school-based financial operations
What You Bring
- High school diploma
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or one year of related work experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication
- Proficiency in computer applications and financial systems
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
