Articling Student (10-Month Contract)

An exceptional in-house opportunity to receive legal training and exposure to, and involvement in, the practical aspects of corporate commercial legal work. Under supervision, the articling student will provide legal analysis, as well as draft and revise a variety of legal documents and agreements in support of special projects and the day-to-day operations of Interac Corp.

Providing level-one legal services with respect to the following:

drafting and negotiating a variety of legal agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements, consulting services agreements, proof of concepts, independent contractor agreements, incentive agreements and letter agreements;
providing contract interpretations to business clients; preparing summaries, digests and inventories of documents; and
conducting legal research on topics such as data handling, interpretation of legislation impacting the business, and other corporate law matters.
Supporting more senior legal personnel with respect to the following:

negotiating partner, client, supplier, vendor and other agreements; - providing substantive legal advice for the ongoing delivery of existing services;
providing legal support on proposed new products and services and other cross-functional initiatives;
assessing strategic initiatives for related business units;
reviewing of marketing collateral; and
monitoring and auditing of processes to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.

Law Degree from an accredited institution
