Ideal Candidate
An experienced professional with a passion for upscale and exceptional guest service. They have a strong understanding of restaurant operations and guest service, leading by example to create a sophisticated environment. The ideal candidate excels in team leadership and upholds service standards. They ensure every guest receives personalized, memorable dining experiences.
Key Accountabilities:
- Active server or bartender
- Provide exceptional customer service, interact with guests, and answer inquiries, ensuring a positive guest experience
- Ensure team members are fully trained on menu details, enabling them to confidently discuss menu offerings and enhance the guest experience. Working closely with the back-of-house team to address allergies and dietary restrictions, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction
- Participate in front-of-house menu change launch process, including culinary and bar updates, ensuring smooth transitions and proper communication with the team.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all restaurant roles and responsibilities, with the ability to cover for other team members as needed
- Perform on-the-spot guest service recovery to resolve issues promptly, advocating for outstanding guest experiences
- Coordinate and participate in training sessions to maintain high standards of service, operational procedures, and team development
- Act as an expert and trainer on all operational systems, procedures, and standards, ensuring team adherence and consistency
- Oversee the scheduling and management of reservations, ensuring efficient use of time and resources
- Assist in onboarding new team members and provide guidance to ensure smooth transitions
- Manage a moderately busy shift, ensuring smooth operations and delegating tasks to optimize restaurant performance
- Ensure the restaurant environment is clean, professional, and well-maintained, including dining and waiting areas
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stocking supplies, ensuring easy access to necessary items
- Handle guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a professional, courteous demeanor at all times
- Promote restaurant initiatives and special events to retain existing guests and encourage new visits
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and a dependable work ethic
- Stay updated on restaurant services, promotions, and policies to provide accurate and timely information to guests
- Work with management to update the Restaurant Training Manual and ensure new hires are tested on relevant procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation, food safety protocols, and company policies
- Report and follow up on asset care and maintenance issues, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order
- Complete incident and accident reports promptly and accurately, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation
- Maintain First Aid certification and advocate for health and safety practices within the restaurant
- Additional duties: In addition to the accountabilities listed above, there may be other duties as assigned by your manager. These duties may vary slightly depending on the property
What we would like you to bring to the position:
- Smart Serve certified
- WHMIS certification (training provided)
- First Aid & CPR certification required (training provided if not currently certified)
- Experience with restaurant software such as: Micros considered an asset
- 2+ years of upscale restaurant experience
- Communication: Maintain clear, effective communication with guests, team members, and management to provide seamless service, resolve concerns, and offer constructive feedback.

- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in relevant hospitality systems and software, effectively supporting operational functions and troubleshooting technical issues as needed
