Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and facilities maintenance, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Maintain floors by stripping, waxing, and buffing as necessary.
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed to management.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and report any shortages to the supervisor.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning duties to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff and management professionally.
