Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate specializing in Stem Cell and Brain Organoid Biology to join our wet lab team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge neuroscience and precision medicine projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory research, with proficiency in data analysis and programming tools such as R and Python. The Research Associate will support research activities by assisting with, and eventually being responsible for the development of 3d human brain tissues (organoids) and associated laboratory activities, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards. The intern will also participate in the development of the multi-omics stream of Epiloid’s predictive AI platform.
Duties
- Perform and maintain cell culture, with a strong emphasis on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and 3d human brain organoids.
- Perform molecular and cellular techniques such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, microscopy and PCR.
- Conduct in-vitro experiments, including iPSC differentiation, characterization, and rug-dosage assays, and contribute to the incorporation of these data into Epiloid’s predictive AI platform.
- Receive, label, and safely store materials and biological samples while maintaining accurate records.
- Report and discuss experimental results with research teams.
- Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Keep detailed documentation, including equipment records and daily work logs.
- Prepare commonly used lab materials and specific assay components as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, provide regular oral and written updates
- Review literature and work with colleagues to develop new methodologies and protocols.
- Order and manage laboratory supplies and reagents.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Extensive experience in cell culture.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in a neuroscience laboratory.
- Experience working with iPSCs, mesenchymal stem cells and brain organoids.
- Familiarity with neuroimaging, RNAseq, or electrophysiology techniques.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
