This upscale hotel and conference centre, is seeking a motivated professional for their Part Time Security Officer position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and protecting the hotel’s assets against criminal acts while ensuring the safety of all guests, tenants and staff. The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is a large hotel with 502 suites, 45,000 sq. ft of conference space and a spa/salon.
Typical day to day responsibilities for the Security Officer are:

Investigating criminal acts by employees or guests

Enforces emergency plan for flood, robbery and fire

Coordinates special events which might require extra security measures

Ensures regular safety and emergency inspections occur within the hotel

Responds to guest and employee incidents and provides medical assistance as needed
The ideal candidate for this exciting opportunity will have 1 year of experience in a security officer within a hotel or security prevention field.
Must be available days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Shifts are:

7am-3pm
-
3pm-11pm
-
11pm-7am
The ideal candidate must be available to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
In addition, the hotel will be looking at someone who:

has a Post-secondary Education in Loss Prevention or Law Enforcement

has their current security license, CPR and First Aid certificate

Police and/or security background check must be provided

Must be well versed and knowledgeable of the Criminal Code, Federal and Provincial statues

Has a professional presentation, excellent communication skills and the ability to provide

excellent guest service

High energy with exceptional organization skills

Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment

Computer literacy required including knowledge of Word, Excel and radio communication skills

Must be flexible to accommodate irregular or extended hours
