Source Machine is a growing precision CNC machining company located in Edmonton, Alberta. We operate a modern, fast-paced manufacturing facility supporting customers across the energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial, and other demanding industries.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced CNC Machinists from across Canada who are interested in relocating to Edmonton and joining our team long-term.
We are currently hiring for both CNC Lathe and CNC Milling positions.
Position Overview
We are looking for CNC Machinists with experience setting up and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of machining fundamentals, be comfortable reading engineering drawings and inspecting their own work, and have experience performing CNC setups.
We have opportunities for machinists at different experience levels, with compensation based on technical ability, setup experience, programming knowledge, and overall machining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes or CNC milling machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Install and set workholding, jaws, fixtures, tooling, and cutting tools.
- Set and adjust tool offsets, work offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Perform CNC program edits and adjustments as required.
- Produce and inspect first-off components.
- Perform in-process inspection throughout production.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Monitor tool wear and make necessary tooling or offset adjustments.
- Troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, dimensional, and surface-finish issues.
- Complete required production and quality documentation.
- Follow established machining, inspection, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with supervisors, leads, quality personnel, and other machinists.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience required.
- Experience setting up CNC lathes or CNC milling machines.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Understanding of tolerances and basic GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Good understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining fundamentals.
- Ability to make CNC offsets and basic program adjustments.
- Strong attention to quality and detail.
- Ability to work independently once trained on our processes.
Assets:
- Mazak CNC experience.
- Doosan CNC experience.
- Mazatrol programming experience.
- Fanuc control experience.
- Multi-axis CNC machining experience.
- Live-tooling or mill-turn experience.
- 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis milling experience.
- Experience machining tight-tolerance components.
- Experience in a high-mix precision machining environment.
- Journeyperson Machinist certification or formal machining education.
Experience with our specific machines or controls is not required. Strong machining fundamentals and CNC setup experience are more important.

Schedule
Our primary hiring need is for our afternoon shift:
Monday to Thursday
3:20 PM – 1:50 AM
Four-day work week
Day-shift opportunities may also be available depending on experience and current staffing requirements.
Compensation
$30.00–$38.00 per hour, depending on experience and technical ability.
