The Business Development Manager works very closely with our Senior Leadership Team to establish and execute on a strategic sales and business development plan to ensure we have the necessary framework to grow our business with our current customer base while seeking to diversify our service offering in new product lines and markets.
Based out of Winnipeg, Mississauga, Montreal or Ottawa.
The Opportunity:

Working with the Senior Leadership Team to on strategy and setting clear goals and objectives for organic growth

Collaboration with department leaders on people, programs, and equipment to ensure we have the necessary resources to deliver on all commitments and achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction

Working closely with the Marketing team to develop strategies for communications and social media to promote the business and business opportunities for growth

Provide direction and support to other leaders in the company as it relates to growing their base level knowledge and skill in their approach to sales and business development

Continuous learning efforts to gain a clear understanding of industry regulations, market trends and the economic climate overall

Attend industry events and conferences, and share learnings on market and industry trends

Other duties and projects as assigned
Knowledge, Experience and Skill:
-
Post-secondary education (or considerable work experience to supplement) in administration, safety, logistics or transportation
-
Minimum 5 years of diverse experience with management responsibilities in the transportation industry required

Bilingual, French and English
-
In addition to experience in the fuels and agricultural markets, a strong background in chemicals and food grade products is highly desired

Previous roles must include formal sales or business development responsibilities

Facilitation skills are essential for this role

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Well organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic, and confident with a roll up your sleeves attitude towards work

Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requiring initiative and ambition, able to work independently

A solid business presence complimented by personal drive, resourcefulness, maturity, integrity, honesty and sound business judgment

Ability to travel within the assigned region 50% of the time or greater as needs arise

Required to be on-call outside of normal business hours
