GN Systems Inc. is presently hiring energetic customer service oriented Smart Home, Security Alarm System and CCTV technician with minimum of 2 years of experience. Multiple positions are available, with opportunities to work under various product lines. You must supply your own communications hand tools and work vehicle (VAN).

Required Qualifications: .

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with alarm systems
  • Must supply own work vehicle (VAN)
  • Experience working with Honeywell and DSC alarm panels
  • Experience installing data and voice cabling (Cat5e & Cat 6)
  • Experience installing fiber optics
  • Experience installing audio/visual systems
  • Able to hang TV Brackets, and TV’s
  • Ability to work at heights 15-30 feet
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and schematics.
  • Crimp and terminate BNC connectors
  • Strong command of the English language – both spoken & written
  • Neat appearance and good customer service skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations
  • Maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Physically fit, including the ability to lift heavy objects, tools and climb a ladder

Desired Skills:

  • First Aid, fall arrest and lift training certificates are an asset
  • Good understanding of Computers and iPhone/Android apps
  • Have a Smart Phone (Andriod) for work purposes
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • You will interact with consumers daily and should be comfortable and able to effectively communicate/train customers
  • Ability to pull, terminate, test and troubleshoot alarm cable, Cat5/Cat6, fiber optic and coaxial cables
  • Experience using a scissor and boom lifts (Certification Required)
  • Knowledge of communication cabling , fiber optics & telecommunication products
  • Current Fall Protection, ladder safety & WHIMS certification, liability insurance (contractors only) and WSIB (contractors only)
  • Possession of any BICSI, trade or manufacturers certificates an asset


  • Comfortable with using handheld tools and working at heights
  • Managing service call routing to maximize time utilization
  • Diligently completing and submitting work orders.
  • Maintaining service vehicle stock of all parts, supplies and equipment
  • You will be exposed to a variety of weather elements including: heat, cold, wind, and rain
  • Installation, termination, & testing of Cat5e, 6/6a, UTP cable & multimode/singlemode fibre
  • Follow safe drilling practices
  • Willing to work flexible schedules including daytime, evenings, weekends & overtime as required by the project
  • Follow safe work practices
  • Willing to relocate
  • Willing to travel
  • Willing to finish online training at your own time

Salary: $700.00 to $1,200.00 /week
