Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Roofing General Labourer. This role involves supporting flat roofing projects through various manual tasks, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the timely and safe completion of construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and an interest in construction and carpentry work. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in roofing and general construction operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, plywood, and other roofing components
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to support project execution
- Use caulking tools to seal joints and ensure waterproofing standards are met
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing, sheathing, or other structural elements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency on site
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during construction activities
- Assist with general handyman duties as needed to support project progress
Qualifications
- Prior experience with hand tools, carpentry, or general construction work is preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading is advantageous but not required; training will be provided if necessary
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively for extended periods
- Experience with caulking or waterproofing techniques is a plus
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures on construction sites
- Previous handyman experience or related skills are beneficial but not mandatory
- Reliable transportation to job sites; punctuality is essential
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
