We are looking for 4 enthusiastic and dedicated part-time Baristas to join our team at our brand-new coffee shop on Dundas Street West (Ossington - Dufferin)! Whether you're experienced or just starting out, we want to hear from you. Our focus is on creating a friendly and supportive environment where every team member feels like they own the store.
As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You will play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our customers while ensuring that all food safety and handling standards are met.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for order taking and cash handling.
- Assist in food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining spaces.
- Engage with customers to provide friendly service, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Handle customer transactions accurately while managing cash register operations.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; assist with restocking as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and preparation.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred but not required; we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus, along with basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is beneficial; training will be provided as necessary.
- A friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills is essential for engaging with customers effectively.
Details
- Shifts available: 7:30 am – 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
