Job Summary:
The primary function of the Floater (FOH Services/Food Assembly + Smoothie Bar staff) is to provide overall assistance and support in the general function and operation of the Kitchen through the use of essential knowledge and skills required to wash, clean and store dishes, utensils, food preparation equipment and/or kitchen as well as prepare, clean, and store food. Such skills include proficiently being able to utilize kitchen tools including but not limited to the proper knife handling/cleaning procedures. Staff are responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service by portioning, slicing, assembling, wrapping, weighing, and labelling prepared foods. Staff are also required to assist with department cleaning and food prep as needed. The role is also responsible for creating the Organic Juice Bar experience for the Juice Bar customer and by extension, The Big Carrot, by providing exemplary customer service, quality drinks and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.
Responsibilities for FOH Services/Food Assembly duties:
- Provide excellent customer service while efficiently serving and assembling food orders.
- Assist in portioning, packaging, and labelling prepared food items.
- In order to adhere to food health and safety standards, maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follows all designated departmental methods and policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safe food handling and organic compliance standards for food preparation, storage, serving and clean-up.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by Food Service Managers and Supervisors.
Responsibilities for Prep Cook duties:
- Follows designated methods and policies and procedures including, but not limited to, organic compliance standards for food preparation, storage, serving and clean-up.
- Uses and maintains all kitchen equipment safely and appropriately and maintains a clean and safe work area as per policy and procedures.
- Provides excellent customer service when in contact with customers or other staff.
- Performs all other related job duties as required by the departmental manager.
- Attends all required Organic Compliance trainings and follows designated protocols
- In the event that compliance of organic standards procedures cannot be met, notifies manager/supervisor or Standards Coordinator.
- All other responsibilities related to organic compliance that are recommended by the Store Manager
Responsibilities for Juice Bar duties:
- Delivers excellent, friendly, customer service and product knowledge to all Juice Bar customers.
- Producing and serving quality juices and drinks for Juice Bar customers in an efficient, friendly and timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Process cash, debit and credit transactions in an efficient and timely manner.
- Perform closing duties which can vary from compost and trash disposal, to general cleaning and storing of equipment
- Communicates information to the department manager and supervisor, so the department can respond as necessary.
- Adhere to all operational, health & safety, and organic compliance policies and procedures when the above responsibilities are performed.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
Experience:
- Barista: 1 year (preferred)
- Prep Cook: 1 year (required)
