We sell and install blinds, shades, shutters, wall paper and custom drapery including motorized roller shades and motorized drapery tracks. Our clients include developers, designers, contractors, and retail clients. We are a family business operating two showrooms in Calgary and we're always looking for dynamic people to join our team.
Job Overview:
We are looking to add a dedicated, customer service-oriented Window Coverings Sales Associate to join our team in a part-time, permanent role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and assisting clients with their window coverings, custom drapery and wallpaper needs. This position involves working in our showroom, meeting with clients, educating clients on various products, managing installs, quotes, and ensuring that all client transactions are completed knowledgably and accurately.
As retail walk-in traffic is unpredicatble, this position would cater well to a university student where there would be free time to study.

Responsibilities:
- Meet prospective clients that visit our showroom and conduct consultations to assess their needs, provide information on product features, options and samples, etc.
- Provide quotes for window coverings, custom drapery, wakllpaper projects and recommend product options; effectively facilitate the sale of projects and prepare documentation.
- Enter orders into vendor software system, follow up and manage orders.
- Place orders with suppliers/manufacturers for the project and stay updated on the timelines.
- Liaise and coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, installation teams, etc. throughout the project and oversee project through to completion.
- Maintain professional relationship with clients throughout design process.
- Housekeeping of showroom, keep displays, products, etc. clean and dusted.
- Work on additional duties, special projects and assignments as assigned by the owner.
Experience:
- Proven track record in sales with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Must have at least 2+ years of experience in retail sales. Window Coverings sales an asset.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret specifications and drawings.
- Ability to work well in a professional retail environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with computers.
