Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating North Star’s tractor and lowboy equipment trailers, moving equipment between various projects in Calgary and the surrounding area.
- Deliver aggregates and other material as determined by the Transportation Manager. Safely Load and unload equipment and, secures loads for transportation as required.
- Safely Load and unload equipment and secure loads for transportation as required.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advise the Transportation Manager.
- Keep the truck in a clean and professional condition at all times.
- Complete daily accurate pre-inspection and post-inspection regulatory logs, Field Level Hazard Assessment sheets for all worksites, and transportation timesheets and submit them to the Transportation supervisor.
- Ensures truck/trailer is returned to the company yard full of fuel at the end of each day.
- Assist other employees when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience moving Heavy Equipment.
- Must have a valid Class 1 driver’s license and provide a current 5-year driver abstract
- Must be able to drive standard (18 speed)
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification.
- Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer
- Winch tractor experience
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends.
- Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
- Able to sit for long periods of time and look over shoulder.
- Able to climb up and down from equipment.
- Must be able to work out of town.
- Must be able to lift chains and boomers of all sizes.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 34 per week
