Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Sterilization Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and processing of dental instruments and equipment, maintaining strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards. Responsibilities
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners according to established protocols
- Prepare, package, and label medical instruments for sterilization
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance
- Ensure all instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored in accordance with infection control standards
- Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels
- Follow strict safety procedures to prevent contamination or accidents during sterilization processes
- Support the cleaning and disinfecting of work areas and equipment regularly
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely processing of instruments needed for procedures
Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology is preferred to accurately interpret instructions and documentation
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure compliance with sterilization standards
- Ability to operate sterilization machinery safely and effectively
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and safety guidelines diligently
- Prior experience in a healthcare or sterile processing environment is a plus but not required
