We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Site Superintendent to oversee daily on-site operations, trade coordination, quality control, and safety compliance for our senior living project in Red Deer, Alberta
Position Overview:
As the Assistant Site Superintendent for NLGC's senior living project, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the construction site. Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful completion of the project while adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will work closely with project managers, site superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain project timelines and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
1. : Manage and provide leadership to the on-site construction team, including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring they are motivated, organized, and working efficiently to achieve project goals.
2. Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
3. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site, ensuring all workers and contractors adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
4. Foster effective communication and collaboration with project stakeholders, including project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to address any issues or concerns promptly and maintain positive working relationships.
5. Identify and resolve construction-related issues, challenges, and conflicts that may arise during the project, utilizing your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Regularly update project managers and other stakeholders on project progress, milestones, budget, and any potential risks or delays.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, site inspection reports, and compliance records.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with a focus on residential or commercial projects. Experience with senior living projects is highly desirable.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage construction teams effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
3. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
4. Proven track record of identifying and resolving construction-related issues and challenges, adapting to changing circumstances, and making sound decisions under pressure.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
7. Thorough knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
8. A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
Working Conditions:
- The Assistant Site Superintendent will work primarily in an outdoor construction environment.
- The role may involve occasional travel to project-related meetings or training sessions.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
