Alongside the Summer Camp Assistant Director, oversee the support of the summer staff team through meaningful conversations, creative activities, social events, and any other means. Assist with staff paperwork, volunteer coordination and communication, and be a senior leader on site throughout the summer.
- At least 3 years of experience at a summer camp, specifically in cabin and/or program roles.
- Specific training such as Mental Health First Aid is an asset
- Support all summer staff by strategically coming alongside them to offer conversation, care, and instruction.
- Administration specifically related to staff paperwork, contracts, and general office work as needed.
- Coordinate with volunteers through email, phone calls, and in person.
- Assist in oversight of volunteers including interviews, contracts, welcome and orientation and communication.
- Assist with Staff Training planning, implementation and teaching
- Assist with dealing with staff issues and discipline
- 'Director on duty' in the absence of Summer Camp Director and Summer Camp Assistant Director.
- Lead a staff small group as designated by the Summer Camp Assistant Director.
- Be a part of Medeba's Summer Leadership Team by attending and participating in weekly meetings and supporting the team.
