Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing snack bar functions, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or the food industry is highly valued. The Food Service Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high-quality service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily food service operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Manage POS systems for order processing and cash handling
- Lead and motivate team members, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Conduct interviewing and hiring of new staff to build a competent team
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor inventory levels
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer concerns promptly
- Assist in kitchen management tasks including food safety compliance and cleanliness
- Support snack bar management in implementing policies and procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles including supervising teams
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems; cash handling skills required
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to interview, train, and develop staff effectively
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including kitchen experience and food industry best practices
- Previous barista experience is a plus but not required
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
