MSCP has been awarded a major electrical scope for an upcoming industrial turnaround.
Core Purpose:
We are looking for a General Foreman to take on a senior field leadership role as a primary representative for MSCP on site. This role carries full accountability over field execution consistency, safety, and quality across all projects while developing Foremen into confident, capable leaders.
The General Foreman position is evolving to focus on operational leadership and execution consistency across MSCP projects.
The role serves as the primary link between strategic leadership and field execution and is accountable for ensuring work is prepared, crews are supported, and standards are consistently applied.
1. Operational Leadership & Consistency
Ensure work readiness and compliance with safety and quality standards across all projects
Reduce variation in field execution through standardized processes and procedures
Maintain accountability for manpower planning, resource allocation, and efficiency
Implement initiatives that strengthen field performance and reduce rework
Drive Continuous Improvements from projects to improve future execution
Monitor and improve productivity metrics (time-on-tools, unit rates where applicable)
Specific Activities:
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for common work types
Conduct execution reviews to identify variation patterns
Create work readiness checklists and verification processes
Build systems for efficient material staging and crew mobilization
Analyze productivity data to identify improvement opportunities
Document and share best practices across all projects
2. Foreman Development & Mentoring
Coach Foremen to lead crews effectively and make sound decisions
Build trust and rapport with Foremen through regular communication and support
Provide feedback and guidance on execution quality and compliance
Support professional development for Foremen to grow leadership capabilities (PDP) RMS
Conduct regular field observations and coaching conversations
Empower Foremen to solve problems independently while providing backup support
Specific Activities:
Weekly 1-on-1 coaching sessions with each Foreman
Structured feedback on leadership effectiveness and growth areas
Observation of Foreman crew interactions with constructive feedback
Development of Foreman capability assessment and growth plans
Celebration of Foreman wins and learning moments
3. Safety & Quality Compliance
Promote a strong culture of safety and quality compliance across all crews
Ensure Foremen conduct proper tailgates, inspections, and hazard assessments
Monitor safety observations, near-misses, and compliance of Quality
Ensure readiness for client audits and inspections
Address compliance gaps immediately and systematically
Lead by example in safety leadership and accountability
Specific Activities:
Regular review of safety observation and near-miss reports
Pre-audit verification of compliance documentation
Coaching on effective tailgate meetings and hazard assessments
Investigation of incidents with focus on systemic improvement
Recognition of safety leadership at all levels
Development of compliance verification checklists
4. Client & Stakeholder Relationships
Maintain professional relationships with client site contacts
Mentor Foremen on professional conduct during client interactions
Facilitate meetings focused on safety, quality, and schedule adherence
Support Project Managers with operational insights for client discussions
Ensure client expectations are understood and communicated to field teams
Specific Activities:
Regular touchpoints with client site supervision
Preparation of Foremen for client interactions and audit support
Debrief sessions after client meetings to capture feedback
Escalation of client concerns to PM with operational context
Participation in client safety and operational meetings
We are looking for a leader who is comfortable operating at a high level while staying grounded in field reality.
Required:
Proven experience leading industrial turnarounds
Strong leadership and communication ability
Experience managing or developing field leadership teams
Ability to operate under pressure while maintaining structure and clarity
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes
Preferred:
Background in electrical, heat trace, or heat management
Experience with digital work packages or inspection systems
Familiarity with contractor scorecards or performance tracking systems
