Wood is currently recruiting for a Recruiter to join our team in St. John’s.

Candidate should be a dynamic, self - motivated, recruiter with the ability to multitask efficiently.

Work Location – St. John’s, Newfoundland

Key Responsibilities

Experience recruiting would be a requirement
Experience with volume recruiting which is subject to change at short notice
Work closely with project teams to determine craft / technical field staffing needs
Build and maintain effective business relationships with Hiring Managers
Support all aspects of the recruiting process for the assigned positions while servicing multiple Hiring Managers daily and using various strategies to recruit candidates
Build and maintain network of potential passive and active candidates through networking; and, conduct in - depth interviews and assessments of potential candidates
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in all aspects of recruiting
Advertise vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing ads in a wide range of media (e.g. company website, online job boards, industry websites and social network media), and campaign management
Ensure requisitions are placed into the Applicant Tracking System to identify suitable candidates
Interview applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements
May administers Background checks, drug testing, and other pre-employment activities
Ensures compliance with all federal and local employment laws and corporate policies
Conduct new employee orientations, obtains completed paperwork from new hires and responsible to ensure all paperwork for new hires are in order from an audit perspective
Headhunt quality candidates, specifically identifying and approaching suitable candidates
Receive and review applications, manage internal and client interviews and short-list candidates
Ensure a positive candidate experience, through communication, regular check-ins and updates, and positive on-boarding
Request references and check the suitability of applicants as directed
Present the company as the “employer of choice” by creating compelling, meaningful, and intelligent job advertisements and professional marketing materials
Skills / Qualifications

Education and Experience:
1 - 3 years of previous experience in full lifecycle recruiting craft and field / technical employees
CPHR designation and / or RPR designation or working towards is an asset
Prior Oil and Gas, Mining and / or Power experience preferred
Diploma in business, human resources or related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

Target driven
Use/Knowledge of Recruitment Tracking Systems, job boards, Linked-in etc
Strong competency-based recruitment screening and interview skills
Understanding of human resources best practices and procedures
Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; excellent organizational and time management skills
Travel to other job site locations – as required
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Proficient in utilizing an ATS for sourcing, tracking and managing candidates
Must have experience in the recruiting lifecycle components to include sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, offer negotiations and closing
Ability to develop a working relationship with hiring managers that eventually will result into leveraging recruiting experience to influence hiring decisions
Prior track record of excellent customer service and strong teamwork with the ability of working autonomously
