Do you want to work a physical, outdoor job? Love dogs? We are hiring kennel help to provide care for 170 Alaskan and Siberian Husky sled dogs. This is a great opportunity to spend the summer outside, learning the sled dog industry standards to prepare for a winter of dogsled tour guiding.
Duties include dog care (feeding, cleaning, watering, grooming); yard maintenance (raking gravel, trimming weeds, strawing houses); general cleaning and maintenance (painting, house repairs, gear check) and the fun part: free run training/exercising of the dogs!
Applicants must be physically fit, love dogs, and be able to commit to end of September or October. A vehicle is required; preference given to Canmore/Banff/Exshaw applicants. Experience with animal care an asset. Work can continue as dogsled tour guide in the winter, for the right person.
Applicants must not have any physical restrictions that would prevent them from lifting heavy items, walking/running on uneven surfaces, and performing physical duties on a daily basis.
This is a non-smoking position.
Wage range is $17-19 per hour.
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
