Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scale House Operator to manage weight measurements, recording all incoming and outgoing vehicles, collecting fees, and providing customer service. Ensure transactions are processed correctly and maintain accurate records. The scale house operator monitors compliance with landfill policies, communicates site procedures and works closely with landfill operators to ensure safe and effective site operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate scale equipment to accurately weigh inbound and outbound loads
- Screen incoming materials for compliance
- Process payments and keep accurate records
- Provide information and guidance to customers regarding landfill rules, accepted materials, and disposal procedures
- Data entry and reporting, balance daily transactions, month end reporting
- Customer service, answering phone and emails, and perform general administrative duties
- Communicate with grounds staff
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry
- Ability to handle cash and electronic payment
- Previous administrative, cashier, or scale house experience is an asset
