Routledge Flowers is a locally owned and operated flower shop looking for a motivated, creative, and dependable Part-Time Floral Assistant to join our team. We're searching for someone who is eager to learn the floral industry, develop their design skills, and grow into a fully trained florist over time.The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating beautiful floral arrangements, assisting customers with their selections, and maintaining the floral displays. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting floral arrangements and related products, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain the presentation of floral/plant displays, ensuring they are fresh, attractive, and properly maintained
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, handle cash and electronic payments accurately
- Assist with general retail duties such as cashiering, cash handling, answering phone calls and maintaining cleanliness of the store
- Floral maintenance consisting of cleaning and processing the flowers
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse customers and team members
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and merchandising techniques is advantageous
- Experience or interest in floral design is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English are required
- Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing inventory and maintaining displays
